Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ShotMemory Team ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use ShotMemory (the "App"). ShotMemory helps you save screenshots and photos as private memory cards with optional notes, categories, OCR-based search, share cards, and reminders.
Local-first design. The current App does not require an account, does not use a developer-operated backend for core features, and does not upload your screenshots, photos, OCR text, notes, or reminder data to our servers.
1. Information Processed On Your Device
- Screenshots and photos: The App can process images that you share into the App, capture with the camera, select from Photos, or allow the App to check as the latest screenshot when you open the App.
- Memory card data: The App stores card titles, notes, OCR text, categories, tags, favorite/archive status, source labels, reminder dates, and created/updated timestamps using local app storage.
- Image files: Saved card images are written to the App's local application support storage. Images imported through the Share Extension are temporarily placed in the App Group container so the main App can import them.
- OCR text: The App uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to recognize text in images. Recognized text is used for search and categorization and is stored locally with the card.
- Settings: The App stores local preferences such as whether to prompt for the latest screenshot, whether iCloud Sync is enabled in settings, and whether Pro features are unlocked.
- Reminders: If you set a reminder, the App schedules a local notification. The notification may include the card title and note so you can recognize the reminder.
2. Photos and Camera Access
The App requests Photos access to read screenshots or images you choose and to check only the latest screenshot when the prompt feature is enabled. The App does not automatically process your entire Photos library. The App requests Camera access only when you use the in-app camera capture feature.
3. Share Extension and App Group
When you share an image to ShotMemory from another app, the Share Extension saves that image into the App Group container group.com.luoyi.ShotMemory. The main App reads the pending shared image and lets you save or discard it as a memory card.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
The current implementation does not collect account registration data, contact lists, precise location, advertising identifiers, payment card numbers, or analytics events on our servers. The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking.
5. Apple and System Services
When you use iOS Photos, Camera, Share Sheet, App Store review prompts, notifications, iCloud-related platform features, or other system services, Apple may process information under Apple's own terms and privacy policies. If future App Store purchases are offered, billing and payment details will be handled by Apple, not by us.
6. Retention and Deletion
Cards, images, OCR text, notes, settings, and reminder information remain on your device until you delete cards, uninstall the App, clear related app data, or use iOS storage controls. Because the current core data is local-first, we generally cannot access, restore, or delete data that exists only on your device.
7. Security
ShotMemory uses Apple's app sandbox, local storage, and App Group mechanisms to separate app data from other apps except where the Share Extension needs to pass shared images to the main App. No app or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for controlling access to your device and reviewing content before sharing exported cards.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your region. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through developer-operated servers for this App.
9. Regional Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, California, China, and other regions, you may have privacy rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, restriction, or withdrawal of consent. For information stored only on your device, use the App and iOS controls to manage or delete it. You may contact us for privacy questions using the email below.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes or legal requirements evolve. The updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
