Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 20, 2026
App: ContactAudit
Bundle identifier: com.luoyi.contactaudit

This Privacy Policy describes how ContactAudit Team ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use ContactAudit (the "App"). ContactAudit is designed to review contacts on your device, identify duplicate or incomplete entries, and help you apply cleanup or restore actions only after your confirmation.

1. Summary

ContactAudit processes your address book on your device. We do not operate a private server for uploading or storing your contacts, and the App does not require an account. Backup records may be stored in your iCloud Documents container when iCloud is available, or locally on your device as a fallback. Purchases are handled by Apple's in-app purchase system. The App uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for product analytics, reliability, crash reporting, and technical diagnostics.

2. Information the App processes

2.1 Contacts data

After you grant Contacts permission, the App may read contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, and related contact fields needed to detect duplicates, incomplete entries, and restore candidates. The App uses Apple's Contacts framework for this access.

The App may also update, merge, delete, add, or restore contacts when you explicitly approve those actions in the App. Contact cleanup and restore operations are performed through Apple's Contacts framework on your device.

2.2 Backups and restore records

Before cleanup or restore changes, the App can save a restorable vCard snapshot of contacts, together with metadata such as backup title, creation date, contact count, and whether the backup was created from limited Contacts access. Backup files are stored as vCard files and small sidecar metadata files.

When iCloud Documents is available for the App, backup records are saved in the App's iCloud container under a ContactBackups directory. If iCloud is unavailable, the App uses local app storage on your device.

2.3 Operation history and preferences

The App stores recent operation history, such as backups, merges, deletions, restores, purchase unlock events, and test-data actions. This history is stored locally and may be mirrored through Apple's iCloud key-value store when available. The App also stores preferences such as your selected language.

2.4 Purchases

The App offers a one-time ContactAudit Pro purchase through StoreKit. Apple processes payment, entitlement, refund, and transaction information. The App checks the purchase entitlement to unlock Pro features. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.

2.5 Product analytics and purchase-flow events

The App uses Firebase Analytics to collect limited information about how the App is used. This may include app opens, successful contact scans, successful cleanup or backup-export actions, Pro feature gates, paywall views, StoreKit product loading, purchase and restore flow status, entitlement status, and the App Store product identifier. These events may include coarse counts, bounded status values, app version, operating-system version, device model, and a Firebase app-instance or device-scoped identifier.

We use this information to understand feature usage, improve the App, maintain purchase functionality, and diagnose problems. We do not set a Firebase user ID, and we do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, account identifiers, contact records, backup titles, vCard contents, or raw error messages in analytics events.

2.6 Crash and diagnostic data

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and related technical diagnostics. Depending on the crash, this may include stack traces, device model, operating-system and App version, process state, timestamps, and other technical information needed to identify and fix reliability problems. We do not intentionally add contact content or other user-generated content to Crashlytics reports or custom diagnostic fields.

3. What we do not collect

4. Service providers

Google provides Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics and processes analytics, app-instance identifier, crash, and diagnostic data on our behalf under Google's applicable terms and privacy documentation. Apple provides Contacts access, iCloud, StoreKit, App Store distribution, and related platform services. These providers may process data in countries other than your own and apply their own security, retention, and legal-compliance practices.

5. Apple services and device backups

Contacts access, iCloud Documents, iCloud key-value storage, App Store purchases, App Store analytics, crash diagnostics, and device backups are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's terms, privacy policy, your Apple ID settings, and your device settings. For example, iCloud backup behavior depends on your iOS and iCloud configuration.

6. Retention and deletion

Contact data remains in your address book unless you approve a change or delete it through iOS or the App. Backup files and operation history remain until you delete them, remove the App, or manage the relevant iCloud/local storage according to iOS behavior. Removing the App may delete local App data, subject to iOS and iCloud settings. Firebase retains analytics, crash, and diagnostic data according to the Firebase project settings and Google's applicable retention practices. Removing the App stops future collection from that installation but may not immediately delete information already retained by Firebase.

7. Security

ContactAudit relies on Apple's platform security, Contacts permission controls, local app sandboxing, and iCloud protections where applicable. No method of storage is perfectly secure. You are responsible for protecting your device and Apple ID, including passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iCloud account security.

8. Your choices

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a ContactAudit account system because the App does not provide one.

10. Regional privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit certain processing of personal information. Because ContactAudit primarily processes data on your device and through Apple services, many choices can be exercised directly in the App or iOS Settings. For requests directed to us, contact us using the information below.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. The effective date above indicates the latest version. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the updated policy where permitted by law.
