This Privacy Policy describes how UseSoon ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our iOS application. UseSoon helps you track food expiration dates, scan package dates, and schedule reminders.
UseSoon is designed as an offline-first food tracking app. Food records, photos you choose to save, reminder settings, language preferences, and scan quota information are stored on your device using Apple platform storage. We do not operate user accounts for the App, and we do not sell personal information.
The App stores information you enter or confirm, such as food names, expiration dates, storage location, quantity, status, reminder days, estimated value, creation/update dates, and related event history. This data is used to display lists, statistics, item details, and reminders.
If you choose to use the camera or photo library, the App processes the selected image so Apple's on-device text recognition can detect package dates. If you save an item with an image, the image data may be stored locally with that food record. The App does not upload your selected images to our servers.
UseSoon uses Apple's Vision framework for on-device text recognition. Recognized text is processed on your device to suggest dates such as best-before, expiration, sell-by, or production dates. You remain responsible for confirming or correcting detected dates before saving.
If you enable notifications, the App may schedule local reminders on your device for the reminder days you choose. Notification content may include food names and expiration timing. These are local notifications scheduled by iOS, not push notifications sent from our servers.
The App offers UseSoon Pro through Apple's StoreKit in-app purchase system. Apple processes payments, subscriptions, refunds, and purchase account information. The App receives transaction status from Apple so it can unlock Pro features. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
The App may store preferences such as app language, reminder time, notification settings, whether to suppress unusual-date warnings, and free-plan OCR quota counters. These settings are stored locally to make the App work as expected.
Your food records and related local data remain on your device unless you delete them in the App or remove the App, subject to iOS backup and storage behavior. You can edit or delete food items in the App. Uninstalling the App may remove locally stored App data depending on your device and backup settings.
The App as implemented does not require registration, does not include advertising SDKs, and does not include a developer-operated analytics backend. Apple may provide developers with aggregated App Store analytics, sales, crash diagnostics, and subscription reporting through Apple's systems, governed by Apple's policies and your device settings.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or through Apple services you choose to use, such as StoreKit purchases, App Store distribution, iCloud/device backups, and system diagnostics.
The App is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated account system.
UseSoon relies on Apple's platform security controls for on-device storage, permissions, and payment processing. No storage method is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device with appropriate settings such as a passcode, Face ID, and trusted backups.
Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights such as access, deletion, correction, or objection to certain processing. Because UseSoon is designed to store core data locally, many requests can be handled directly on your device by deleting or changing data in the App. For statutory requests directed to us, contact us using the information below.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, Apple platform requirements, or law. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
