User Content & Acceptable Use Policy

This User Content & Acceptable Use Policy ("Content Policy") explains rules for property information, photos, notes, inspection records, and PDF reports you create or process in Deposit Defender ("the App"). It supplements our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Important: Deposit Defender is a local documentation tool. You control what you photograph, write, export, and share. Avoid storing or sharing confidential, regulated, or sensitive information unless you have permission and understand the risks.

1. Your content

"User content" includes property addresses, property types, move-in and move-out dates, room names, checklist items, issue notes, evidence tags, severity labels, photos, PDF reports, timestamps, and related metadata you create or process in the App. You are responsible for your content and for ensuring you have the rights and permissions needed to capture, store, export, and share it.

You must comply with applicable privacy, tenancy, property, recording, and consent laws. Do not photograph people, private documents, access codes, financial information, mail, personal belongings, restricted areas, or other sensitive material unless you have the authority and consent required for your situation.

You agree not to use the App to create, store, export, or distribute content that:

5. No public feed or routine monitoring

The App does not provide a public feed, social posting system, or cloud-hosted collaboration service in the current version. We do not routinely review your local inspection records. If we become aware of prohibited use, legal violations, or platform-policy issues, we may take appropriate action consistent with law and our Terms.

6. Reports and evidence use

PDF reports are generated from local App data and are provided for convenience. You are responsible for reviewing reports before sharing them and for determining whether a report is suitable for a landlord, property manager, mediator, insurer, court, or other recipient.

7. Intellectual property

You retain rights to your user content. The Deposit Defender name, branding, interface, and software are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App except as permitted by law and Apple's App Store terms.

8. Third-party destinations

Once you export or share content to another app, service, or recipient, that destination's rules and privacy practices apply. We are not responsible for third-party handling of exported reports or photos.

9. Changes

We may update this Content Policy to reflect product, legal, or platform changes. The effective date above indicates the latest version.
