User Content & Acceptable Use Policy

This User Content & Acceptable Use Policy ("Content Policy") explains rules for property information, photos, notes, inspection records, and PDF reports you create or process in Deposit Defender ("the App"). It supplements our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1. Your content

"User content" includes property addresses, property types, move-in and move-out dates, room names, checklist items, issue notes, evidence tags, severity labels, photos, PDF reports, timestamps, and related metadata you create or process in the App. You are responsible for your content and for ensuring you have the rights and permissions needed to capture, store, export, and share it.

2. Where your content may appear

Depending on how you use the App, your content may appear:

• Inside project lists, project detail screens, inspection workflows, report previews, and settings.
• In generated PDF reports, including property details, room sections, issue titles, notes, evidence tags, severity labels, dates, and photo thumbnails.
• In iOS share sheets and any destination you choose, such as Mail, Files, AirDrop, Messages, or third-party apps.
• In local device backups or Apple-managed backup services depending on your iOS settings.

3. Privacy, property access, and consent

You must comply with applicable privacy, tenancy, property, recording, and consent laws. Do not photograph people, private documents, access codes, financial information, mail, personal belongings, restricted areas, or other sensitive material unless you have the authority and consent required for your situation.

4. Prohibited content and uses

You agree not to use the App to create, store, export, or distribute content that:

• Violates applicable law or promotes illegal activity.
• Infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, tenancy, contractual, or property rights.
• Contains non-consensual images, harassment, threats, hateful or discriminatory content, or sexually explicit material that violates App Store standards or law.
• Includes government identifiers, credentials, protected health information, financial account details, or other sensitive information without authorization and appropriate safeguards.
• Misrepresents inspection results, property condition, dates, ownership, authorship, or evidence.
• Is used to defame, impersonate, surveil, intimidate, or harm another person.

5. No public feed or routine monitoring

The App does not provide a public feed, social posting system, or cloud-hosted collaboration service in the current version. We do not routinely review your local inspection records. If we become aware of prohibited use, legal violations, or platform-policy issues, we may take appropriate action consistent with law and our Terms.

6. Reports and evidence use

PDF reports are generated from local App data and are provided for convenience. You are responsible for reviewing reports before sharing them and for determining whether a report is suitable for a landlord, property manager, mediator, insurer, court, or other recipient.

7. Intellectual property

You retain rights to your user content. The Deposit Defender name, branding, interface, and software are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App except as permitted by law and Apple's App Store terms.

8. Third-party destinations

Once you export or share content to another app, service, or recipient, that destination's rules and privacy practices apply. We are not responsible for third-party handling of exported reports or photos.

9. Changes

We may update this Content Policy to reflect product, legal, or platform changes. The effective date above indicates the latest version.
