This Privacy Policy explains how Deposit Defender ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the iOS application. Deposit Defender is operated by the Deposit Defender Team.
Deposit Defender helps renters document move-in and move-out property condition with room-by-room notes, photos, issue tags, and PDF reports. The App is designed to keep rental projects, inspection records, photos, and reports local to your device. The current App does not require an account, does not provide cloud sync, does not include advertising SDKs, and does not intentionally send your inspection records to our servers.
The App stores records locally using Apple on-device storage. This may include:
When you use the camera or import images from your photo library, the App stores JPEG image files in the App's private Application Support directory on your device. These photos are used to show inspection evidence and generate PDF reports.
The App requests camera access so you can take room-by-room evidence photos. The App requests photo library access so you can import existing property photos. These permissions are controlled by iOS Settings.
The App generates PDF reports from local project, inspection, note, tag, severity, timestamp, and photo data. When you export or share a report, you choose the destination, such as Mail, Files, AirDrop, Messages, or another app. Deposit Defender does not upload reports to its own server.
The App may offer a one-time Pro unlock through Apple's StoreKit framework, including the product identifier depositdefender.pro.unlock. Purchases, billing, refunds, transaction verification, and purchase management are handled by Apple. We receive only the purchase status needed to unlock App features on your device.
Rental projects, inspection records, photos, and reports remain on your device until you delete them where the App provides deletion controls, remove the App, or reset your device, subject to iOS backup and restore behavior. Apple device backups, iCloud Backup, and device-level retention are controlled by Apple and your device settings.
The App as currently implemented does not create user accounts, does not operate cloud storage for inspection records, does not include third-party analytics SDKs, and does not include advertising SDKs. Apple may provide aggregated App Store analytics, crash information, and purchase reporting to developers through Apple systems; those are governed by Apple's policies and your device settings.
The App relies on Apple platform services including SwiftData, PhotosUI, UIKit camera and PDF rendering APIs, StoreKit, and standard iOS sharing surfaces. Your use of Apple services is also subject to Apple's terms and privacy practices.
We rely on Apple's platform security controls for on-device data. No storage method is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device with appropriate safeguards such as a passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, trusted backups, and careful sharing choices.
The App is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own servers. If you believe a child has provided information in a way that concerns you, contact us.
Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights such as access, deletion, correction, or objection to certain processing. Because the App is designed around local device storage, many requests can be addressed directly on your device. For requests directed to us, contact us using the information below.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires otherwise.
For privacy questions or requests, email the Deposit Defender Team at luoyi9932@gmail.com. You may also use support options on the App's App Store product page.
